Executive Director, Corporate and Economic Development
Chris Spinella advances ASU’s reputation as a core and trusted partner to the private and independent sector through a shared support services, resources and management model. He makes ASU talent and resources easily accessible to organizations of all sizes and helps attract resources to ASU. He also engages with economic development partners locally, regionally and nationally in coordination with other ASU departments. He will be working closely with all the academic units as well as the Marketing Hub, EOSS (especially Career and Professional Development), UTO, Sun Devil Athletics, the ASU Foundation, etc.
Chris has an in-depth understanding of businesses working for both start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. He has co-founded and served as CEO of multiple high-tech companies including iTool, Smart Technologies and Apriva, where he currently serves on the board of directors.
Chris was the chair of the ASU Alumni Association in 2011 and received his Bachelor’s degree in management from ASU’s W.P. Carey School of Business, receiving a Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award in 2012. He also received his MBA from the Harvard Business School.
