Director, Business Development
Jim is a seasoned professional with 30+ years of successful sales/business development expertise in both domestic and international arenas. He offers a unique, solid background with excellent operational acumen for global environments. His current role resides within ASU’s Economic Development unit where he leads business development activities for ASU’s cybersecurity initiative as well as development of new sectors (i.e. IoT, Fintech). Prior to that, he was with Entrepreneurship & Innovation Group leading the development and execution of Alexandria Library Network, startup programs, global business strategies, and go-to-market activities.
Previous experience includes: NetApp, Wipro Technologies, Microsoft Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Nihon Sun Microsystems KK, Convergent Technologies, and Be Inc. He is especially skilled in establishing successful, mutually beneficial, executive business relationships with companies from ASEAN, India, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, Canada, and Australia.
Jim holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri – St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Cum Laude from the University of Missouri – Rolla. He is a member of Tie Silicon Valley (Seattle and Arizona), is co-chair for Arizona Technology Council’s Startup Committee, and is a United States Navy Veteran.
