Senior Economic Development Advisor
As Senior Economic Development Advisor for the ASU Office of Knowledge Enterprise Development (OKED), Todd leads the OKED Economic Development unit at SkySong and represents the University in economic development organizations throughout the state. In that regard, he is primarily responsible for engaging the expertise of ASU faculty and the resources of ASU, in the attraction of new businesses to the Greater Phoenix region.
Immediately prior to joining ASU, Todd was the Executive Director of Digital Knowledge Ventures, the new media entrepreneurial unit of Columbia University. There, he had executive management responsibility for the development of partner collaborations, licensing of content-based intellectual property, and creation of digital content for a variety of external audiences.
Throughout his career, including more than twenty-five years as corporate counsel to Fortune 500 and NASDAQ firms and co-founder of a number of startup and early stage enterprises, he has been a leader in the formation and operation of innovative enterprises based in a variety of new technologies in telecommunications and renewable energy markets.
Todd serves on boards and committees that are focused on community service and economic development in the Phoenix marketplace, including the Board of Directors of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council, the Arizona Technology Council, and the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce.
Todd received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University; a Juris Doctorate from the Washington College of Law at American University; and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University in the city of New York.
